Devotional

 Verse of the Night

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God

John 3:18

Meditation

We all make mistakes, but God's love and patience mean He won't judge us. Jesus said that those who believe in Him will never be rejected. Put your trust in Him and you'll receive the joy of the abundant life He offers. No matter what, He will never turn away from you.

Pray

Lord, we thank You for Your unconditional love and acceptance of us. Help us to recognize that our salvation comes through faith in Christ. Strengthen our faith, the only path to the eternal life You have promised us. We pray in Jesus' name, Amen.

My Thoughts

What does it mean to believe in Jesus? Truly believe. Well it starts with having faith. Having faith in what we can not see with human eyes. Believing that there is something greater than ourselves. Most would say that since they have never seen Jesus or God with their own eyes then they must not be real. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Those same people probably once believed in something as children that most of their parents told them was real. When children are small they easily believe everything they are told. Some notable figures that most children believe in are Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, and the tooth fairy. What is something in common here? All of these children have never seen the real Santa Claus, Easter bunny, or the tooth fairy but because they were told they were real they had faith like a little child does and believed. Child like faith is really something. Just because you can't see it, hear it, or touch it does not make it unreal. God and Jesus are both very real, but it takes childlike faith to believe. No, I'm not trying to force my belief on anyone, but I indeed believe in God and His only begotten Son. God gives free will to anyone whether they believe in Him or not. I choose to believe because I've seen Him at work in my life and my marriage. Honestly, I'd rather believe and be saved in the end than to not believe and find out in the end I was wrong. I have nothing to gain if I am wrong, but I have everything to lose if I do. Heaven sounds too sweet to miss!
